Environmental concepts focus on the external world a traveler encounters. The term Environmental factors directly describes those external elements—the weather, surface conditions, lighting, terrain, and other conditions that can influence safe travel. That makes it the best fit for the environmental concepts category. Cardinal directions relate to orientation, not the environment itself; parts of the body pertain to the traveler’s own physiology; sensory understanding concerns perception rather than external features. By naming the external conditions people navigate through, environmental factors clearly align with environmental concepts.
